This colorful mariner's friend was built in 1910 and situated at the northern end of Lake Michigan. Its tower rises 121 feet, allowing its light to be seen an amazing 28 miles into Lake Michigan, to give sailors lots of advance warning of the dangers of the shoals on the Straits of Mackinac. Overall lamp height is 24".
