The present light at Point Wilson was erected in 1914 to replace a lesser structure built 35 years earlier. An octagonal shape was chosen by its architects to fend off the strong winds experienced in the area. The fourth-order Fresnel Lens, imported from France, produces a light to be seen 13 at sea. Overall lamp height is 24".
