The Currituck Beach Lighthouse, built in 1875 of approximately 1 million unpainted bricks, makes a bold statement at its site in Corolla, North Carolina. Located halfway between the Cape Henry Light in Virginia and the Bodie Island Light, this bright beacon flashes every 20 seconds and can be seen 18 miles out to sea along the dangerous Outer Banks of North Carolina. Overall lamp height is 26".
